After The spread of the covid-19 virus the need of good and effective healthcare facility comes into picture as india was not having the needed facilities i.e vantiators, masks and the most important the required workforce as most of the doctors were working day night but due to such a large population of india. Also this disease posese so much danger to human race so it was necessary to identify the threat.
Let us now discuss about the India's current situation so according to global health security index which usually measures that how a country will perform if any pandemic arises and it measures and rank INDIA on 57 which is very very behind usa no.1 , uk no. 2 , brazil at no.22 etc. all in all means that india is more vulnerable to the fatalities than any other country. The main reason due to which these things happen is because of the healthcare policies of INDIA as india only spends 1.3% of the GDP to the healthcare sector which is worst than any other sector as due to which when a situation like pandemic arises we were not sufficient enough to handle the chaos.
If talking about other countries there is such a major It contrasts with other developed and developing countries like Brazil, which spends 7.5% of its annual GDP on health, Bhutan, which has allocated 4.6%, and Bangladesh, which dedicates 2.2%.So by these figures we can take a estimate that even these countries are suffering so howcan we be safe.
Now let us talk about about rural areas so the doctor to patient ratio in some rural areas are 2:50 which is worst and some records are not even there of remote villages and accordingly there are 1000 doctors for rural areas. The main problem is not only that in this pandemic the hospitals and doctors were less and hospital facilities were also not present and The main concern was also ensuring that the millions who have not received care during the lockdown do not contribute to a sharp rise in spreading of the disease.
If these deficits in care are not addressed soon, we are likely to see a resurgence of vaccine-preventable illnesses, thousands of deaths from chronic illnesses, and a rise in mortality due to infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, which kills over 1,000 Indians every day. Mathematical models suggest that each month of lockdown in India could cause an additional 40,000 TB deaths over the next five years.
