HOW PANDEMIC ENHANCED THE ENVIRONMENT DURING LOCKDOWN?

Lockdown due to global pandemic has substantial impact on environment globally. All the factories , markets , shops were closed , most public transports suspended and construction work halted, as every citizen was ordered to stay at home and practice social distancing. This practice has optimistic effect on eco system as the level of pollution decline drastically. The citizens of the country were told to stay indoors and maintain social distancing. Our country was under lockdown for about more than a month which lead to a positive impact on our environment. 

Data shows as well as we can see that the major cities are recording much lower level of harmful pollution substances and nitrogen dioxide, that is released by vehicles and power plants. also despite air pollution control, numerous extinct animals are also witnessed due to no human poaching . Although, ozone layer started to get better however, earlier the ozone layer was depleting at alarming rates. Probing ahead, worldwide curfew also resulted in lowest one - day traffic pollution lever which leads to favorable results for people suffering from various respiratory diseases.

As we all know  that on world environment day on June 5, many experts mentioned a positive impact on environment as a result of lockdown. India saw an improvement in air quality, water pollution, noise pollution. As we are all aware that maximum percentage of pollution is caused by vehicles. 

One of the biggest example of cleaner air is the visibility of mountains suddenly one day after years of disapearence . it was so facinating to watch the nature getting back at it with better pace because i am from jalandhar only so in my city it was not very normal to see the mountains which has happened never before. In a way we can that lockdown has been really beneficial for our environment. 

Waking up to the beautiful chirping of birds and breathing in cleaner air gave us a good kick to start the day.  The irony is that reason for  our environment  is humans locked inside their homes! But I strongly believe that if we really contribute towards the betterment of our environment, we would'nt have to be the reason for degrading our own earth.
